Vol. 124 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Vocational Education Classes.

asked the Minister for Education if, in conjunction with the Minister for Agriculture, he will recommend to the County Donegal Vocational Education Committee the establishment of marine engineering and navigational classes on Arranmore Island and at Burtonport, Kincasslagh, Bunbeg and Rossbeg, County Donegal.

The County Donegal Vocational Education Committee has already signified its willingness to provide instruction in marine engineering and navigation for fishermen in centres in its area where a demand for such instruction is found to exist, and where the services of competent instructors can be obtained. A recommendation from me does not, therefore, appear to be necessary. No specific proposal for the establishment of such classes has yet been received from the committee.
