Vol. 124 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imports of Bed-Covers.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state (1) the total value in 1950 of imports of goods described as quilts, counterpanes, bedspreads, bed-covers, etc., (2) the proportion of these goods which was deemed to be subject to import duty, and (3) the value of dutiable goods of these kinds admitted free under licence.

The total value of goods described as quilts and quilt covers imported in 1950 was £26,611. All these goods are nominally subject to duty but the duty was suspended on them for all of 1950. Imports of counterpanes, bedspreads and bed-covers are not separately available.
