Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Roscommon Estates.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring two holdings (Messrs. Fallon and McDonnell) situated in the townland of Lisnagalra, Four Roads, County Roscommon; and, if so, with what result.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands but the matter has been noted for consideration.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the progress made by the Land Commission towards acquiring the adjoining holdings of Messrs. Michael and John Naughton, situated in Coolumber (Kyle estate), for the purpose of relieving congestion.

Proceedings in the case of John Naughton's lands have concluded and the Land Commission have taken possession. The proceedings for the resumption of the other holding in question are well advanced.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the progress which has been made by the Land Commission towards acquiring the Comyn and Raftery estates in Miltown, County Roscommon.

Proceedings were recently instituted for the acquisition of the Comyn estate. As regards the Raftery estate, the Land Commission had the lands inspected and have decided to take no further action towards acquisition.
