Vol. 124 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Coal Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the virtual repudiation by the British Government of their liabilities to us in respect of the export of coal supplies to this country, he will inform the British Government that he considers the Irish Government released from the percentage limiting clauses in the 1948 agreement in respect of the export of Irish cattle to countries other than Britain.

The assumption in the first part of the Deputy's question is unwarranted. Discussions are proceeding between members of both Governments on the question of the delivery of the coal supplies provided for in the agreement.
