Vol. 124 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milltown (Kerry) Footpath.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that a footpath was to be made on the south side of the Milltown-Castlemaine trunk road, adjacent to Milltown, at a cost of £300, that very little was done for the sum of money expanded and that the footpath is still in an unfinished state and if he will make representations to the local authority to make provision in this year's estimates for the completion of this footpath and the removal of the old footpath on the opposite side so that the road may be widened at this dangerous bend.

It is primarily for the county council to decide on the road works to be carried out in its area. I shall ask the county council for a report on the statement in the Deputy's question that very little work was done for the sum of £300, which, he states, has already been expended on the provision of the footpath.
