Vol. 124 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission will consider the propriety of an inspection of the Jackson estate, Killoley, Mount Bolus, County Offaly, and the Clarion estate, Derrydonnelly, Kilcomat, County Offaly, with a view to the division of the lands amongst the local deserving applicants.

The acquisition of the Jackson estate was considered and the Land Commission decided not to proceed in the matter. It is proposed to inspect the Clavin estate.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he has received repeated requests in recent weeks to have a further inspection of the lands of Mr. Matthias Moore, Lunville, Edenderry, County Offaly, carried out with a view to division of this holding amongst the local people and what he proposes to have done in this respect.

No such requests were made to me in recent weeks. As I have already informed the Deputy, the Land Commission decided not to resume this holding.
