Vol. 124 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grazing on Arable Land.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that some 500 acres of good arable land are being let for grazing purposes on the Inchiquin farm at Dromoland, New-market-on-Fergus, County Clare, and that this land was let last year for a similar purpose; and, if so, whether he will state if the Land Commission consider large grazing tracts of this nature a suitable method of husbandry.

I am not aware that the position is as indicated by the Deputy, but the Land Commission are having inquiries made regarding these lands.

Does the Minister forget that a copy of the local paper, with advertisements indicating that the land was up for letting in grass, was supplied to his Department?
