Vol. 124 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gaeltacht Circuit Courts.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will indicate the Circuit Court areas which embrace Gaeltacht districts and the names of the judges appointed in respect of these circuits.

The circuits which include districts where the Irish language is in general use are the north-western, the western and the south-western circuits and the persons appointed to be the judges assigned to these circuits are, respectively, His Honour Judge Fionan Lynch, His Honour Judge John James Durcan and His Honour Judge Barra Ó Briain.

Am I to understand from the Minister's reply that the Cork and Waterford Gaeltacht areas are not included in the circuits mentioned?

The Deputy will see that the circuits which include districts where the Irish language is in general use are the north-western, the western and the south-western circuits.

Does the Minister appreciate that Gaeltacht districts in County Cork and Waterford do not come within the circuits enumerated in his reply?
