Vol. 124 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Victimisation of Garda Síochána.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Justice if the departmental committee set up to inquire into the victimisation of certain members of the Garda Síochána during the years 1932 to 1948 have yet completed their inquiries; and, if so, whether he will make a statement to the House on the matter.

I am not yet in a position to make a statement on this matter.

Is the Minister aware that it is now three years since this committee was set up to examine the question involved and is it a fact that now, after three years, they have nothing to disclose?

The answer to both parts of the supplementary question is "no."
