Vol. 125 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Delay in Repair of Embankments.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware of the delay in arriving at a decision concerning the repair of the embankments at Calinafercy, on the Marshall estate, and, if so, whether he is now in a position to make an announcement in the matter.

Although the Land Commission have no responsibility for the repair of this embankment, they agreed to undertake the work provided the benefiting land-holders had made stipulated contributions towards the cost. The land-holders refused to co-operate to the extent required and the Land Commission are now considering if any modification can be made to their proposal. There has been no delay on the part of the Land Commission.
