Vol. 125 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Newspaper Imports.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he proposes to take any steps to reduce the imports from England of newspapers and other reading matter which are at present coming into the Republic of Ireland free of duty.

The volume of imports of newspapers and other reading matter is under examination, but I am not in a position to say at present what steps, if any, are practicable in the matter.

Will the Minister say how long they are under consideration?

I could not say exactly, but I know that a subject matter such as this is under consideration from time to time.
