Vol. 125 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Árus Brugha.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state whether any complications arose between the Department of Local Government and/or the committee of management of the National Health Insurance Society and the landlord of Árus Brugha in the years 1937 and 1938; and, if so, the outcome of the negotiations between them.

Árus Brugha was purchased in fee simple in 1933 by the Provisional Committee of Management of the National Health Insurance Society. It is presumed that the Deputy's question relates to a dispute which arose in 1937 between the committee of management and a firm of building contractors who completed an extension of the building in 1936. A settlement was reached in May, 1938, following discussions between officers of the former National Health Insurance Society and the contractors.
