Vol. 125 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mitchelstown Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state the position with regard to the site for the proposed hospital in Mitchelstown.

I informed the local authority on 13th December last and again on 19th February that the site proposed for the hospital at Mitchelstown was not regarded as satisfactory and I suggested that they might have the possibility of finding an alternative site fully explored by their technical advisers.

I have now been informed by the local authority that the northern committee of the Cork County Council desires that the proposed site should be re-examined by inspectors of my Department, in conjunction with the council's architect. I have had arrangements made for the re-examination of the site, as requested by the committee.
