Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Prices.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether, as a result of his recent discussions with representatives of the dairying industry, he is now in a position to make an announcement as to the price dairy farmers may expect for milk supplied by them to creameries this season.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is now in a position to say what price farmers may expect for milk delivered to creameries during the present season.

I propose, a Chinn Chomhairle, with your permission, to take Question Nos. 25 and 26 together.

As announced in the public Press on 8th instant, the Government has guaranteed the following increased prices for milk delivered to creameries during each of the five production years beginning 1st May, 1951, and ending 30th April, 1956:—

Period 1st May till 31st October, 1/3 per gallon; period 1st November till 30th April, 1/4 per gallon.
