Vol. 125 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Rashers.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that the recent Order fixing the wholesale and retail price of bacon does not fix the price of rashers wholesale; further, whether he is aware that the omission to fix such price has caused a cessation of this trade with loss to the traders concerned and hardship to their customers; and, if so, whether he will take such steps as may be necessary to remove the cause of the complaint.

It has not been the practice in any of the previous Bacon (Maximum Prices) Orders to fix special prices for rashers when sold by wholesale. As a result of recent representations, however, the matter is under consideration.
