May I make a statement with the leave of the House?
Minister's Resignation—Statement by Taoiseach.
No objection?
Mr. de Valera
Will we have an opportunity of making any remarks?
No; there can be no discussion.
I beg leave to state, for the information of the Dáil, that Dr. Noel Christopher Browne has placed in my hands, for submission to the President, his resignation from office as a member of the Government and that the President, on my advice, has accepted the resignation with effect from to-morrow, the 12th instant.
Dr. Browne's resignation as a member of the Government automatically terminates the assignment to him of the Department of Health, and, as a temporary arrangement, I have assigned that Department to myself with effect from to-morrow, the 12th instant.
The Dáil adjourned at 10.35 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Thursday, 12th April, 1951.
