Vol. 125 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Fuel Scheme.

andMr. J. Larkin asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that the fuel scheme operated by the Dublin Board of Assistance for old age pensioners and others is not satisfactory because of the lack of an organised delivery scheme to the homes of those participating in the scheme; and, if so, whether he will have the position examined with a view to the introduction of such an improvement.

The Deputies will appreciate the difficulties in the way of arranging for the weekly delivery to individual homes of ½ cwt. or 1 cwt. lots of turf supplied under the scheme, but I am having inquiry made of the Dublin Board of Assistance as to whether it is considered necessary or advisable to introduce such an arrangement.
