Vol. 125 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Building Loans.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will explain the delay in issuing loans to people building houses under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts.

I am not aware that there is avoidable or unreasonable delay in the issue of such loans generally. If the Deputy will please send me particulars of the specific cases or districts which he has in mind, I shall have inquiries made and acquaint him with my findings.

It is in my own district and in my own County of Monaghan. Is the Minister aware that building contractors are suffering considerable financial embarrassment at the moment and, indeed, county managers?

If the Deputy will send me particulars, I shall be glad to have them investigated.
