Vol. 125 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Short-Wave Station.

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether he will press for the establishment of the short-wave radio station in as advantageous a position on the air as possible, having regard to its value, even its necessity: (1) as a means of defending our existence in view of the impending world crisis, and (2) generally for the purpose of strengthening the contact with the Irish race and with the many nations that are sympathetic with our aspirations throughout the world.

The whole question of the short-wave radio station is receiving the continuous attention of the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs and myself. The considerations mentioned by the Deputy are being taken fully into account.
