Vol. 125 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bread and Butter Prices.

Major de Valera

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is proposed to authorise an increase in the present prices of (a) bread and (b) butter, and, if so, when.

If the master bakers accept the recommendations of the Labour Court that wages in the bakery industry should be increased, adjustments will be made in bread prices. Discussions on the subject are at present proceeding with the master bakers.

As regards butter, an Order increasing the prices was made on 27th instant.
