Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ministers' and Parliamentary Secretaries' Travelling Expenses.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state separately in respect of each Minister and Parliamentary Secretary (1) the total number of miles travelled during the calendar year ended 31st March, 1951, at their instance or for their convenience by the car or cars allotted to them; (2) the total quantity and cost of (a) petrol and (b) oil used by these cars; (3) the total cost of the wages and allowances paid to their drivers, and (4) the cost of repairs carried out on the cars, the cost of general maintenance exclusive of the repairs but including tyres, washing and other incidentals for the cars; the total number of persons engaged on supervision, repairs, maintenance and other services (other than driving) for the cars and the total amount paid in salaries, wages and allowances to such persons; and, further, if he will state the total allin cost of the service as a whole during the calendar years ended 31st March, 1948, and 1951, respectively.

The detailed statement requested by the Deputy is being compiled and I would ask him to repeat his question in a fortnight's time when I hope to be in a position to supply the information.
