Vol. 125 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Council Appointments.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the Kerry County Manager made an order on 26th September, 1950, No. G. 1698, recommending the appointment of certain members of the staff with long continuous service as permanent clerk/typist; and, if so, whether he is prepared to sanction these appointments.

The order of the county manager relates to a proposal to appoint as clerk-typists in a permanent capacity certain persons who have been in the temporary employment of the Kerry County Council. There is a further proposal from the local authority in regard to the making of additional permanent appointments of clerk-typists from an open competitive examination. The considerations involved have been engaging the attention of the Department and it is hoped to give a decision shortly.
