Vol. 125 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reconstruction of Cork-Kerry Road.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department is prepared to make a special Road Fund grant available for the reconstruction of a road leading to Barna bog, County Kerry, from Knocknagree village, County Cork.

The grants from the Road Fund for road works in Cork County in the current year have already been notified to the Cork County Council. It is primarily for the county council to decide on the road works to be carried out with the aid of these grants. I am not in a position to allocate any further grant from the Road Fund to the county council this year. A proposal for work on the road to cost £2,000 as part of the council's programme under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, is under consideration.
