Vol. 126 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Síochána Pay Increases.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the proposals for increasing the pay of members of the Garda Síochána and from what date the arrears will be paid.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will indicate the increase of pay that it is proposed to give to the officers and members of the Garda Síochána.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will implement the recommendation of the representative body of the Garda Síochána by granting a further increase in pay to all members of the force.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 23 to 25 together. In reply I would refer the Deputies to the statement on the subject made to-day by the Minister for Finance.

Would the Minister consider the advisability of extending the franchise to those men?

Mr. Boland

That is another matter.
