The activities of the Gaeltacht Services Division of my Department provide adequate employment for girls in the Belmullet area. There are no waiting lists of surplus female workers at the crochet and machine-knitting centres in Belmullet nor at the toy factory in Elly Bay. The usual difficulty in this area is to obtain sufficient workers to keep the knitting machines fully employed.
