Vol. 126 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Housing Schemes and Telephone Facilities.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he will have a postal collection box and a telephone kiosk erected at the Cork Road housing scheme, Waterford, in view of the fact that the residents of over 200 houses there are compelled to travel a long distance to the nearest letter box or telephone when they desire to use them.

I find that the erection of a letter box is warranted and I am having arrangements made accordingly.

There is at present a telephone kiosk at Barrack Street about a half-mile distant from the Cork Road housing scheme and it is doubtful if another one for the greater convenience of the residents at Cork Road would be justified, but the position will be reviewed when building in the vicinity is approaching completion.
