Vol. 126 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Schull Breakwater.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the constant danger encountered from inclement weather at Schull harbour by the local fishing fleet, he will indicate what grant his Department will make available for the completion of a breakwater at Schull.

Mr. Walsh

I understand that the Cork County Council, which is the body responsible for the existing pier, are having an outline plan and estimate of cost for proposed improvements to Schull harbour prepared. I will not be in a position to say what grant, if any, may be made available from State funds towards such work until the plan and estimate have been examined in my Department.
