Vol. 126 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - River Moy Flooding.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to undertake the general scheme for the drainage of the River Moy situate in Counties Mayo and Sligo and whether in the meantime it is intended to take some measures of a temporary character to mitigate the damage caused to the lands adjoining by the flooding of the River Moy.

This matter is at present under consideration. The Deputy might be good enough to repeat the question in about a month's time.

Is it not a fact that a decision has been taken already by the Commissioners of Public Works to carry out a survey of the arterial drainage of the Moy?

All I can inform the Deputy is that the Moy occupies a high place on the drainage programme and the matter regarding survey is under consideration.

Again, has the decision not been already taken to carry out that survey on the Moy?

A lot of decisions were taken.

I do not know anything about that.

I would ask the Parliamentary Secretary to inquire in the Board of Works.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that Deputy Ruttledge stated during the election campaign that this drainage work would not be carried out?

I am not so aware.
