Vol. 126 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyhack Harbour Company, Wexford.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will make a grant available for the dredging of the harbour at Ballyhack, County Wexford, as owing to the silting up of the harbour at high water the fishing boats are in jeopardy due to the breakwater being awash.

No application for a grant towards the cost of dredging at Ballyhack Harbour has come before us. I understand that responsibility for the dredging rests with the Wexford County Council.

As I am not a member of the body referred to, would the Parliamentary Secretary consider making representations in that behalf as the harbour, I am informed, is dangerous to boats at present?
