Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alien Residents.

asked the Minister for Justice whether he will state the number of aliens who have taken up residence in Ireland from 1939 to 1950, inclusive, and if he will indicate whether these have been included in the recent census of population which has been published.

There are, at the present time, 1,934 aliens registered as having taken up residence from 1939 to 1950, inclusive.

All persons resident in Ireland on the night of 8th-9th April, 1951, were enumerated at the census of population.
