asked the Taoiseach if he will state the total number of gallons of milk delivered to creameries during the period 1st January to 31st May, 1951, and the number of cwt. of butter manufactured in the same period with comparative figures for 1950.

The approximate total quantity of milk delivered to creameries in the 21-weeks period ended on the 28th May, 1951, was 42,002,000 gallons. The total quantity of creamery butter manufactured during the period 1st January to 31st May, 1951, was 127,892 cwt. The corresponding figures for the same periods in 1950 were 54,403,000 gallons and 180,386 cwt. respectively. Particulars of the production of farmers' butter are not available for the periods referred to.
