Vol. 126 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Dispensary Services.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state what steps have been taken to reorganise the dispensary services in Limerick City, arising out of the recent extension of the borough boundary and the new building schemes recently completed by the Limerick City Council, which caused the transfer of large numbers of people from certain districts to the built-up areas.

An Order creating a new dispensary district in the Limerick County Borough is at present in course of preparation and will be made as soon as possible. Limerick County Borough will then contain four dispensary districts with a medical officer in each district and I am satisfied that, under the new arrangements, adequate dispensary services can be made available for all public assistance patients in the county borough area.
