Vol. 126 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Listowel Primary School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the cause of the delay in the erection of the new national school in Listowel town, County Kerry, as a suitable site has been offered for the proposed new school.

A suitable site has been offered for the erection of new schools to replace the existing boys' schools in Listowel, but I understand that certain difficulties of a legal nature have arisen which have delayed the acquisition of the site by the manager. These difficulties will have to be resolved and other necessary preliminaries disposed of before the Department will be in a position to sanction a grant in aid of the erection of the proposed new schools. Everything possible will be done by my Department to expedite the case.
