Vol. 126 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Unrationed Butter.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) whether it is Government policy to curtail the sale of Irish creamery butter (unrationed), and (b) if the wrapper system that operated for some years back will be done away with; and, if so, for what reason.

Mr. Walsh

In view of the position in regard to stocks of creamery butter and the necessity for maintaining the existing domestic ration, the sale of unrationed creamery butter was discontinued in March last, but the possibility of reintroducing the arrangement under which unrationed creamery butter was made available will be kept under review as the season advances.
