Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Alcohol Factories.

Mr. O'Higgins

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the total number of people employed in the alcohol factories and whether he has considered the possibility of turning these factories to the production of some other commodity.

The total number currently employed by the industrial alcohol factories is 167, made up of 46 managerial, technical and clerical staff and 121 manual workers. The possibility of producing certain chemicals based on alcohol is being examined.
