Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Pier.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the present position with regard to the extension, repair and general improvement of the Reenard Point Pier, Cahirciveen, County Kerry.

Examination of this proposal is proceeding. As indicated in reply to a previous question by the Deputy, various matters require to be settled, including the nature and extent of the works, the method by which they may be financed, the arrangements for their future maintenance and the question whether legislation may not be necessary to give effect to whatever financial and maintenance arrangements may be decided upon. These matters present considerable difficulty and I fear that some time will inevitably elapse before a solution can be found.
