Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Staff for Land Registry Offices.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state whether, since his reply to Question No. 58 of the 7th November, he has made arrangements to provide trained staff at the local land registry offices in County Kildare so as to enable solicitors to secure copies of the folios expeditiously.

Mr. Boland

On the 12th instant, as a temporary arrangement, an experienced officer was transferred to the Kildare office from another office. I am assured that applications for copies of folios lodged with the Kildare office can now be dealt with expeditiously by that office.

Do I take it that that arrangement will continue until there is a fully-trained official available for permanent employment at Naas?

Mr. Boland

I do not know about another officer being appointed. I expect it will continue until there is no reason for complaint about delays. That would be good enough and I am sure would meet the Deputy's wishes.

In other words, nothing worse than the present practice will continue?

Mr. Boland

That is the thing.
