Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Sewerage and Water Schemes

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgent need for a water supply and sewerage for the villages of Ballingarry and the Commons, County Tipperary; and, if so, if he will state when such schemes are likely to commence.

Preliminary proposals for the provision of a water supply to serve the Commons with an extension to serve Ballingarry have been approved in principle. The sanitary authority have, however, been requested to submit further evidence as to the quantity and quality of the water available from the proposed source. I am not in a position to state when the work is likely to commence.

No proposals have been submitted by the sanitary authority for the provision of a sewerage scheme, which must in any event await the installation of a satisfactory water supply.
