Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Treatment of Exported Horses

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, in view of the many complaints that have been made regarding the treatment of horses in transit to Great Britain and elsewhere, he will take steps to ensure that, as far as possible, the possibility of cruelty is eliminated.

Regulations are in force for the purpose of ensuring that horses in transit to Great Britain and elsewhere are not exposed to ill-treatment. The regulations are being strictly applied by the veterinary staff of my Department.
