Vol. 127 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Uneconomic Cows Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he intends to extend the replacement of uneconomic cows scheme to the country as a whole, and what supply of in-calf heifers he hopes to procure for next year.

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to the reply to his question on the subject on the 12th July last. I am not yet in a position to give the information asked for in the second part of the question.

Could the Minister indicate whether this scheme is going to be carried on or whether it is dead?

Which scheme?

The scheme about which you were asked.

I am afraid the Deputy knows very little about it.

It has nothing to do with scalded calves.
