Vol. 128 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Unvested Holdings.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the total number of tenants who were given Land Commission holdings in County Meath since 1932, and who applied for permission to sell before the farms were vested in them.

The information sought in the question is not readily available and it would involve considerable time and expense, which I feel would not be justified, to ascertain the particulars. However, the Deputy can take it that the number of such cases is very small by comparison with the number of allotments and that permission to sell was not given to any allottee unless the Land Commission were first satisfied as to the merits of his application.
