Vol. 128 No. 2

Written Answers. - Imports of Artificial Fertiliser.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of each month in 1950 and 1951 the amount in volume of each type of artificial fertiliser imported differentiating between imports by Government Department and the Irish Sugar Company on the one hand and private firms on the other, and giving the country of origin in each case.

No import of artificial fertiliser was made by a Government Department in the period in question. Since it is not the practice of the Central Statistics Office to disclose particulars relating to the business of an individual firm, the only relevant information available relates to the total import of artificial fertilisers in each month of the years 1950 and 1951 to date. This is given in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

The following is the statement:—
