Vol. 128 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Schools for County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Education what progress has been made in the provision of a new school at Shankill, County Dublin.

The position as regards the provision of a new school to replace the present Tillystown National School, Shankill, County Dublin, is that the manager is now endeavouring to negotiate for the acquisition of a particular site. This site would be suitable but negotiations are likely to be protracted, as there are various legal and other points to be settled before the plot can be acquired.

asked the Minister for Education what progress has been made with the provision of a new school at Edmondstown, Rathfarnham, County Dublin.

The manager has offered a suitable site for a new school, but certain arrangements in connection with the production of evidence of title to the site have yet to be made before the Department will be in a position to sanction a grant towards the cost of the new school. The Department is in communication with the manager on the matter.
