Vol. 128 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Quality of Sausages.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that the percentage of meat in sausages has diminished since increased prices for beef and pork sausages were sanctioned; and, if so, what steps he proposes taking to ensure that increased charges for sausages are justified.

Increased prices for sausages have not been sanctioned. These items were removed from the Schedule to the Prices and Charges (Standstill) Order, 1951, on the 2nd April, 1951. I have no information as to the meat content of the many varieties of sausages available to the public.
