Vol. 129 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Duty-Free Tobacco.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will introduce a scheme for the provision of duty-free tobacco, cigarettes and snuff for old age pensioners.

The answer to the Deputy's question is in the negative.

Is the Minister not aware that there is in operation in England a scheme whereby tobacco, duty free, is made available for old age pensioners? Does he not think it time that such a scheme should be introduced here?

There they have a 1/2d. ration of meat each.
