Vol. 129 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Commodore Barry Memorial.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state the present position with regard to the offer of the United States Government to this country of a statue of Commodore Barry and, further, if he will state where the statue is to be erected.

The artist commissioned by the United States Government to execute the statue of Commodore John Barry, Mr. Charles Keck, died last year, and his successor has not yet been appointed.

The final site for the erection of the statue has not yet been chosen.

The remaining questions will appear on the Order Paper to-morrow.

Are we to understand that you are adjourning the remainder of the questions?

Until to-morrow.

In view of the long period of adjournment, can we have an assurance from the Government that the questions now left over will be the first to be answered to-morrow?

That is the usual practice. The Order Paper is cleared of all questions on the following day.

I think all questions on the Order Paper to-day might be answered now.

Deputies may be assured that the Government will give time to have all questions answered to-morrow in accordance with the views expressed by the Committee on Procedure and Privileges.
