Vol. 129 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Quality of Tea Supplies.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the general public dissatisfaction with the inferior quality of the tea at present on sale on the market; and, if so, whether he will take steps to effect an improvement in the quality of future supplies.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply I gave in Dáil Éireann on the 11th December last to a similar question.

Mr. Byrne

The question at that time referred to supplies and not to quality.

The question to which I have referred the Deputy relates to quality.

Mr. Byrne

Is there any hope of effecting an improvement in the quality of tea supplies?

If the Deputy will look up the reply he will see that there is hope.

Mr. Byrne

Is there any hope of improving the quality of tea?

If the Deputy looks up the reply he will see the answer to that question.

Mr. Byrne

Have tea supplies been improved since then? The tea that is being put on the market in Dublin to-day is of a very inferior quality.
