Vol. 129 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Importation of Pigeons.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will consider allowing pigeons to be imported into this country from England, where he is satisfied from a veterinary surgeon's certificate that the birds are free from disease.

Mr. Walsh

I am not prepared to relax the present prohibition on the import of pigeons, as it is, in existing circumstances, considered a necessary precaution against the introduction of disease infection.

Even with a veterinary certificate that the bird is all right?

Mr. Walsh

No.
