SECTION 2.

Minister for Local Government (Mr. Smith)

I move the following amendment:—

Before Section 2, to insert a new section as follows:—

(1) This Act may be cited as the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Act, 1952.

(2) The Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Acts, 1939 to 1951, and this Act may be cited together as the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) Acts, 1939 to 1952.

It will be noted that acceptance of this amendment will involve the deletion of Section 2 of this Bill. The Bill was moved in this House in 1951, and Section 2 (1) provided: "This Act may be cited as the Rates on Agricultural Land (Relief) (No. 2) Act, 1951." It is now being enacted in a different year.
