Vol. 129 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kildare Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state what is the cause of the delay in vesting the holdings on the Kelly lands at Colbinstown, County Kildare, and if he will now state when the holdings will be vested.

I presume this question refers to the allotments on the estate and resumed holding of Kelly in Spratstown.

Three of the allotments have been vested. Four cases cannot be vested until the allottees become registered as owners of the county council cottages they occupy and this is a matter outside the control of the Land Commission. The vesting of the remaining three allotments is held up owing to title difficulties in regard to the parent holdings. It is expected that two of the latter cases can be vested shortly and the other case will be dealt with when the question of title is settled.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring lands in the area of Narraghmore, County Kildare, for division; and if so, what lands they have decided to acquire.

Lands in Narraghmore and elsewhere are considered for acquisition by the Land Commission according as suitable estates come to their notice. At present the Land Commission have proceedings in respect of lands in Blachall and Killeen in this district.

Would the Minister state what stage has been reached in such proceedings in the Blachall case?

The commissioners in one case have reserved their decision and a report for suitability and price is being obtained in the other case.

Has a notice of acquisition not been published in Iris Oifigiúil in the Blachall case?

Objections were lodged and were heard on the 28th November, 1951. The commissioners reserved their decision.
